The short answer

Every dish at Mahina Vegan Table—including pasta, burgers, pizza and risotto—is 100% plant-based. We use no dairy, eggs, butter or other animal-derived ingredients. Plant-based patties, vegan cheese and cream, mushrooms, roasted vegetables and sauces provide the familiar flavours and textures of each dish. Allergies and other dietary restrictions are separate from vegan status, so please name the exact ingredient before ordering if another limit matters to you.

What Mahina promises

  • The 100% plant-based standard applies to the entire menu, not just a few marked options.
  • Broth, sauce and bread follow the same plant-based standard as the ingredients you can see.
  • Familiar words such as meat, cheese and cream refer to components made from plants on our menu.
  • Vegan and non-vegan guests can choose together from the same menu.
  • Allergies, possible cross-contact and individual changes remain separate from the 100% plant-based standard.

Into the story

Why there is no need to hunt for a vegan symbol

The first thing most people want to do at a table is choose the flavour they are in the mood for, not scan the menu for a small vegan symbol. At Mahina, every menu item—including pasta, burgers, pizza and risotto—is prepared as 100% plant-based.

The standard extends beyond the ingredients visible on top. We use no dairy, eggs, butter or other animal-derived ingredients; broth, sauce and bread—the parts that build flavour underneath—are plant-based too.

At Mahina, 100% plant-based is not a label attached to selected dishes; it is a principle applied across the entire menu. Instead of narrowing the list to what is possible, a guest can choose between bright and rich flavours, a lighter plate and a more generous meal.

Familiar dishes, plant-based ingredients

Burgers use plant-based patties and sauces; pizzas use vegan cheese and vegetables; pasta and risotto may combine vegan cream with vegetables or mushrooms according to the dish. The depth of mushrooms, sweetness and bite of roasted vegetables, and body of the sauce shape each dish’s flavour and texture.

Meat, cheese and cream on our menu refer to plant-based components such as vegan meat, vegan cheese and vegan cream, not their conventional animal-derived versions. The description of each dish lists its main ingredients and composition.

The absence of animal-derived ingredients does not determine how a dish tastes. The sear and texture of a patty, the cooking of vegetables and mushrooms, the acidity and body of a sauce, and the balance with bread or pasta all have to work together for a familiar and satisfying meal.

The pleasure of choosing from one menu together

When the whole menu follows the same plant-based standard, the first question changes from ‘Can I eat this?’ to ‘What do I feel like eating?’ A guest avoiding animal-derived ingredients can begin with the pasta sauce, burger patty or pizza toppings that sound most appealing.

Vegan and non-vegan guests do not need separate menus at the same table. They can arrive for different reasons, read the same choices and each follow their appetite. That small shift makes a shared meal more relaxed than it may sound on paper.

The fact that every dish is plant-based is separate from whether it meets an individual dietary restriction, such as an allergy, the five pungent vegetables, gluten or nuts. If you follow another restriction, read the dish description and tell us the exact ingredient.

Allergies and cross-contact are separate questions

Plant ingredients can include allergens such as soy, wheat and nuts. Our menu descriptions highlight main ingredients to help with selection, but guests with an allergy should name the exact ingredient before ordering.

Whether a dish is vegan and whether it meets a particular allergy requirement are different questions. Even in an entirely plant-based menu, a specific ingredient and possible cross-contact need separate checks. If an allergy or another restriction is medically important, contact us before visiting with the exact ingredient and conditions you need. We will explain the ingredients and what we can accommodate within the limits of what we can confirm.

A plate finds its balance through an established recipe

The acidity and body of a sauce, the texture of mushrooms and vegetables, and their balance with bread or pasta are designed together. That is why each Mahina dish follows an established recipe and composition. Removing or replacing one element can alter that balance, so individual changes may be difficult.

A menu can be entirely plant-based without every customisation being possible. If you cannot eat an ingredient, ask before visiting whether one of the current recipes already suits your needs rather than expecting the plate to be redesigned after ordering.

If an ingredient change is not possible, we can tell you whether another dish on the current menu meets your requirements.

How Mahina creates flavour and texture without animal-derived ingredients

The 100% plant-based standard defines the ingredients we use, but flavour still comes from ingredient choice and cooking. Mushrooms add depth, roasted vegetables add sweetness and bite, and sauces add acidity and body. Plant-based patties, vegan cheese and vegan cream are selected according to the flavour and texture needed in each dish.

Because the entire menu follows the same standard, guests avoiding animal-derived ingredients do not need to narrow the list before choosing. After checking any allergy or separate dietary restriction, they can compare the sauces, toppings and textures they actually want to eat.

Questions before choosing a dish

Is every dish at Mahina really vegan?
Yes. Our 100% plant-based standard covers the entire menu, and we use no dairy, eggs, butter or other animal-derived ingredients.

No. On our menu, these words refer to plant-based components such as vegan meat, vegan cheese and vegan cream. Please read the current description of the dish as well.

We cannot make that blanket promise. Vegan status and allergy safety are different questions. Please name the exact allergen and any cross-contact concern before ordering.
